been posting a lot of words lately...the silence between is as meaningful as speech itself, (as Dickinson would say "the heaves of storm")...so aujourd'hui i'll keep it short :D i found this meditation in a book i am reading- thought i'd share it :D
Think of today as an opportunity to discover and grow beyond your mental and emotional discomfort. When a difficult situation is upon you, reach into the depth of your being and find a greater meaning to your life and your purpose on Earth. Some of the deepest agonies are the greatest triumphs for your soul's evolution.
namastaei and shalom to you all.

Agree with you on this end about the beauty of silence. Sometimes when one's "prose gets too prolix," it can actually miss the entire point of the idea one is trying to convey by its dilution. The real meaning of one's words sometimes is so simple, it can be substituted by a mere gesture, like a holding of the hand, or a dance.

Hindy....that it f'suresomething to think about, reminded me of something I wrote last year... Lemme know what to think:
Calamitous
The water catches the eye of the sun
The breeze holds the remembrance of all things
Days, months, and years are such inaccurate measures
Sights, words, and voices bring unanswered
questions to the mind
Answers that are forbidden and are not there to find
Secrets behind blue eyes are held within
for no one to know or guess
The words are words left unspoken
The pain alone is pain self chosen
re-reading that i just realized maybe it does not hold such great relevance...yeah yeah, anyways its a poem for whatever its worth :)
i am honored that you posted...:D keep scribbling...

People are always on the hunt for happiness. Searching in the self help section of the book store, taking trips to an island off the coast of India, shooting dangerous substances into their blood stream; we are constantly on a journey to this exotic destination know as bliss. But maybe there is no real happiness, maybe it is just a utopian concept that is fed by media, culture, and society. Maybe we are on a directionless route to nowhere. People are always in the pursuit of happiness. But can we ever really be happy?
Often people find happiness, in the eyes of their lover, in the success of their career, or in the size of their bank account; but there is always something gnawing in their subconscious pushing for more. Guilt, skepticism, and self doubt are buried deep inside us, ready to burst just as we think we found contentment. Beyond that, just as one thinks he found contentment, found the thing that will fill the void in the place where joy belongs, he hesitates. Maybe this is not the right thing for me. Maybe this is just a fleeting emotion. Maybe if I had not failed eight grade math I would be able to land an even better job. Is it our pasts that do not allow us to fully feel the bliss we are chasing? The relationships I had in high school, the hug my mother did not give me, the teacher that reprimanded me; maybe they are the cause of my unsuccessful voyage? Looking back at our bygones really trip us up. Mistakes, choices, missed opportunities, there is always something whispering in the back of our minds, preventing us to feel simply light, and happy. We can not just smile, and take life in stride, because there is always this flashing neon sign proclaiming, “Happiness is yours! Come and get it!” But is happiness really attainable, or is it just a deadline? Do we spend our whole lives hounding gratification that we forget to actually live them? Maybe that is the problem; maybe we are running so blindly towards happiness that we don’t realize we dropped it ten miles behind. Maybe we are our own source of unhappiness. Maybe, just maybe, we need to slow down from the marathon towards joy and realize that it is really lying dormant in our hearts and minds, waiting to be noticed. Maybe the question really is do we want to be happy? Are we really willing to call off the search party? Are we really willing to give up on the mission? Possibly we are enjoying the trip through the unknown, searching for the meaningful. Could it be that there is nowhere else to search? Or maybe, just maybe, we have found it already.
"Happiness is a journey, not a destination." - Daniel Levey
att: "anonymous"- very interesting post! hawaii's a serious case study...hindy can vouch for that.(ummm...please?)
question: what do you mean by "...maybe, we have found it already"?
regards-
Firstly, my entire "article" was based on the thesis of Daniel Levey... the real punchline is that one must find happiness within the journey, that although it may not be an end goal, neccesarily, happiness must still be "packed along" for the ride..[i know i'm not being that clear, but i'm sure you get me?]
"...maybe, we have found it already" meaning, maybe that within the searching there is a certain amount of joy, of satisfaction, that obviously it is nearly impossible to achieve this immortal "happiness," but maybe, we have some measure of it already..just to you know, lighten up...(truth is im not REALLY sure what I meant...i did write it at 4am)
peace out
thank you. that was lovely!
i gotcha. don't worry.
