I like this suspension between cholent (gross.) and cheesecake (only my Bub's) to borrow from a noteworthy blog. It makes the week seem like one big Mardi Gras of celebration as when you finally do come around from gastrointestinal onslaught it is already Wednesday! And Rose and I leave Tuesday to Dublin... I

Nice post, Hinds. You have rendered G-d accessible and all-forgiving, (which He is, right?). Maybe we're the ones that don't forgive Him sometimes.

Peace in the Middle East. !!.

for a little bit of irreverent, unrelated-to-the-post-at-hand humor, check out http://www.nytimes.com/2005/06/11/arts/11klez.html?th&emc=th

(though not as informative as chanale's suggestion, a bit more entertaining and ridiculous).

for all the talk of amateurish philosophizing, pretentiousness and the like... i came across this in my mother's 8th grade yearbook (don't ask).
for those of u who know my mom... (nd how funny is this?!) the deep thinking 13 yr old hasn't changed much, though it was a cute attempt at sophisticated profound depth.

Conflict

A man walks on
his aimless path
he walks
reflecting-
on poverty, prejudice
on hypocrisy, hate
which so often
presents its face.

A man walks on
idly and slowly
he walks
wondering-
about happiness, peace
about truth, (tolerance)
the last threads
to which he's desperately clinging.

A man walks on
quite absently
he walks
sighing-
about nature's captivity
about its dwindling presence.

A man walks on
listlessly
he walks
hoping-
that science won't reach too far
that our fragments of nature should remain alive
for only then
can utmost joy be reigning.

A man walks on
a passing shadow
he walks
fearing-
no untouched beauty
no complete justice
will prevail
any more.

A man walks on
radiant
he walks
realizing-
that joy, peace
that truth
is found in his ultimate discovery
the Torah.

Hey Hindy, long time no speak. I tried calling you on your cellular but to no avail..... My Sat. nite was spent listening to F. Sinatra by my lone, an upgraded Bridget moment. Ole Frank's second to any Plato conversation. A cool man without a toga. I know you can relate. Well if we don't connect before Shavuot, hope this year's matan Torah's as real as the original and if you imagine it there will be a mountain hovering overhead, but don't verbalize your spiritual experience, actually if you go to the shul on the far far far right (don't know what it's called, the one with the big big window), they see lots that aren't visible to the naked eye, and talk about it too. Actaully around two years ago someone asked me if the Rebbe came down for mincha yet, a little taken aback at first, I was like hmmmm, you just missed him. Listen to your soul, it'll all but tell. ;) Anyhowsers, your blog's a good one, how bout it? Your own semi-publication and it's free. Doesn't come near Lunar Man in a Solar World though, sorry....... Well see you later alligator.

We fool ourselves
Holding tight
To anchored
Aspirations
That one can
Walk back
As one walked out
With the world
Unchanged
As if time
Were arrested,
Save the exception,
Of our new experiences
